Golden light glances sharply across the morning sky to illuminate a crisp mountain tarn. A chilly night for me in the tent, waiting for this spectacle to emerge from the mist.

Bronte Lagoon in Tasmania’s highlands holds a special place for me. I have taught fly-fishing here every January for the past 32 years in a row. I know the area well…..it’s landforms, fish habitats and weather systems. I particularly like and teach about, it’s insects, as I teach Entomology to fly fishermen.

This painting is in Hut Bay near where I normally camp. One beautiful colour only……Indigo Blue.

The frosty morning and the rising mist off the lake , cloaks the trees in in veils of swirling fog.

Mountain Canyon

Fast gurgling waters rush through rocky outcrops. The dark tannin stained waters froth with white speckled foam forming lines in the water surface. Waterfalls crash down into to pools below.
